PADI Boat Diver

PADI Boat Diver SpecialityThe Boat Diver specialty shows you the broad, basic procedures used when diving from boats.

You learn about using current lines, different entry and exit procedures, and the organisation of getting kitted up for the dive. Besides diving procedures, you also learn useful information like how to pack for boat diving, avoiding seasickness, boating basics and boating emergencies.

  • PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification
    (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
  • Minimum Age: 10 years
  • Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course can benefit almost every diver because different boats in different parts of the world do things differently.

    You will learn the tips, tricks and ways to:

  • Dive from boats ranging from small inflatables to giant live-aboards and how they differ from place to place
  • Safely enter and exit the water
  • Stow your gear in the most appropriate areas
  • Use surface lines to initiate or conclude your dives
  • Locate basic boat safety equipment
  • Basic and common boat terminology
  • PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.

  • Minimum Open Water Training: 2 dives over one day
  • 1 x Knowledge review session
